Hi, I’m Janice. I know that it can take a lot of courage to look into counseling so I am honoured that you may be inviting me to be part of your healing journey.
From a young age, I can recall being drawn to and wanting to help people who were struggling. Over time, I have come to discover and now deeply believe that everyone, no matter what they have navigated in their lives, has an incredible resiliency, inner wisdom and innate capacity to heal and live a life that is more peaceful and meaningful. This healing can be blocked by trauma and life stressors getting stuck in our bodies, which can prevent us from seeing our wisdom, truth and beauty. My approach to counselling is to start where you are. In a heart-centred, gentle, emotionally safe, trauma-sensitive and supportive way, we will explore together to help you see and access your healing, wisdom and growth.
I am a Registered Social Worker and EMDR Therapist. I completed my Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario and my EMDR Basic Training with Sue Genest. I am currently enrolled in Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing approach (2024-2026) and am constantly and humbly learning everyday as a mom of 2 to a tween daughter and a teenage son. Parenting and watching them grow, unfold and become, has been the greatest and hardest training that I have had to date!
I have been practicing social work for 20+ years with a variety of populations and have witnessed and supported many individuals living with emotional pain, attachment wounds, chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, infertility, loneliness, isolation, shame, guilt, loss, grief, fear, frustration, sense of not belonging, losses of identity, lack of self-compassion and purpose. It is my deepest privilege to support you on your healing path, to witness and help you to see your innate beauty and wisdom, reclaim your authentic self and find more peace and meaning in your life.
When I’m not in the counseling room, you might find me listening to and making music, camping and being in nature and hanging out with my family, including our crazy and sweet dog!

As someone who is deeply committed to creating positive change, I am thrilled to offer a space for youth and young adults who are seeking self-discovery, emotional exploration, and meaningful healing. My approach is strength-based and rooted in the principles of inclusivity, respect, compassion, and non-judgment. Along with these values, I aim to practice authentically to encourage young people to embrace their unique strengths and identities that make them who they are.
As Gabor Maté expressed, “Knowing oneself comes from attending with compassionate curiosity to what is happening within.” It is during this challenging but rewarding journey that I hope to support and empower individuals. As a young newcomer to Canada, and as a mixed Latina, I understand the nuances of culture, identity, the delicate nature of our sense of belonging, and the challenge of life transitions. I also believe in the power of empathy and collaboration when navigating these challenges.
With a Master’s of Social Work, I ground my practice in evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Therapy. Whether you are experiencing shame, anxiety, isolation, or are ready for a change, I look forward to supporting your personal growth and honouring you, wherever you are in your story.
Alicia has completed EMDR Basic Training and Internal Family Systems (IFS) - Informed EMDR.

Hello! My name is Lori and for over two decades, I’ve had the privilege of serving the Okanagan community, initially as an educator and later as a school counselor and behavioral interventionist.
Since childhood, I’ve been drawn to supporting children in realizing their fullest potential. Witnessing the way children perceive and interact with the world has always fascinated me. I’ve observed that when children endure pain, their behaviours often serve as expressions of that hurt. I firmly believe in the transformative power of play for children. Through play, children naturally navigate their experiences, articulate their feelings, and find avenues for healing.
My aim is to guide my clients, no matter their age, towards a place of inner peace, belonging, and profound healing, liberating them from the burdens of shame, guilt, and loneliness. As Brené Brown, a leading expert on vulnerability and shame, beautifully expressed, “Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we’ll ever do.” Through compassionate counseling, I seek to create a space where children and adults can bravely confront their stories, embrace their vulnerabilities, and embark on a path towards healing and self-love.
In addition to my professional endeavors, I’ve received my most profound training through the joys and challenges of raising two daughters who are now emerging into early adulthood. Witnessing their growth, learning, and self-discovery has been the greatest joy of my life. When I’m not engaged in helping others on their healing journeys, you can often find me savouring the breathtaking views while hiking or exploring the local wineries. I also find immense pleasure in the simple joys of reading, playing board games, and sharing moments of connection with friends and family over coffee or dinners.
